Over the last 20 years, we've had the pleasure of working with many of these wonderful people. Their stories, the things they grow and make, and how they produce them, have enriched our lives and extended our table. So much so that we want to share them with you in an ongoing blog, which we hope will develop into The Mediterranean Market Cookbook. We'd like to introduce you to our long-time friends - the innovators in hydroponic agriculture, the responsible helicopter deer hunters and the artisan sourdough bakers, to name just a few. We want to take you into the heart of their world and explore how that world makes its way back into our kitchen or onto our shelves. The places they inhabit and the things they craft have become dear to us, home to us, and together we've found an epicurean language that's created a sense of belonging in this abundant yet untamable place.
So, please read along as we get the inside story on quality farm-to-table produce from our local suppliers. Join us in the kitchen to discover new dishes by some of this region's best chefs. Follow us out into the wild where our catering partners serve gourmet lunches to alpine trekkers. Head back into the Mediterranean Market where we bring all these threads together in our cafe, kitchen and grocery isles. Our nutritionist, Kim, and in-house chef, Anne, will add practical advice and cooking tips along the way. We'll share our recipes, our landscape, and the people who make up the tapestry of our lives here in Queenstown in the hope that you'll be able to take a slice back home. Whether you're down the road or across the seas, we think you'll enjoy the unfolding story.
